In a heavy bottom pan take 1tsp of butter on a medium flame.

Let it melt.

Take few cloves of peeled garlic.

Add those garlic in the butter.

Saute for few seconds and then add 1 large onion roughly chopped.

Again stir for few seconds.

And then add 1 large tomatoes roughly chopped.

Stir all of them together.

Now cover it with a lid for about 5-7 minutes.

after 7 minutes you'll notice that your tomatoes are soft and mushy that's when you need to put all of them in a blender.

Blend to make fine smooth paste and keep it aside.

Now you'll need whole spices. It includes 1-2 cloves, cumin 1/4th tbsp, 1-2 bay leaves, black pepper, 1 star anees and a grated nutmeg. In case you don't have all the mentioned ingredients, go with whatever you have in your kitchen.

Now in the same pan with 1tsp of butter add all the dry spices to it.

Saute all of them for 1 minutes till you star feeling the aroma.

Till then, get ready with the below ground spices. Coriander, red chili, garam masala(5 spice powder), turmeric, salt and sugar.

Now in the same pan with whole spices and butter add only turmeric and chili powder on low flame.

Stir all the spices well for few seconds. Make sure you don't burn them.

Also add salt as per taste.

After stirring add your earlier prepared smooth paste.

Stir all of them on a medium flame.

And then add other left overs that is garam masala and sugar.

Stir it again.

And then cover it for 5-7 minutes to let everything combine and cook. Put the flame on low heat.

After 7 minutes you'll observe the oil starts to separate that's when you are ready to add water little water to it. I've mixed half cup of water to the blender and then added. You can use plain water instead.

On medium flame let it boil and reduce the water.

Once again you'll see the oil starts to separate.

Add your green peas. I've used frozen ones but you can use fresh green peas which is always better.

Let it combine well and then add your paneer/cottage cheese.

Mix all of them well and let it combine together.

It's time to add fresh cream. This is completely optional. You can avoid this put little milk instead.

Mix them well on a medium flame.

Then add slit green chilies and you are ready with delicious mutter paneer.

You are ready to serve with any kind of breads or rice.
