Yam Curry in poshto(poppy) and mustard gravy.


You need 500gms of yam approx.


Peel it and cut into smaller thin pieces.


For curry and marination you'll require 2tsp poshto/poppy seeds, 2-3tsp yellow mustard and garlic.


Grind the above ingredients into smooth paste. Mix half cup of water to while grinding to make a smooth paste.


Mix the above ingedients with salt, 1tsp turmeric, 1tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder. 



Mix them well.


Marinate the yam pieces with 2tsp of above paste. and keep the rest for curry.


In a heavy bottom pan take few tsps of oil and start frying them.Flip it over to fry on both sides.


Keep it aside.



In a same pan add fenugreek seeds and whole dried red chilli for tempering.


Let's get ready for curry now. Add the remaining paste in the same pan once you start hearing the crackling noise. 



After few minutes of stir add 2-3 chopped tomatoes.



Keep stirring till oil starts separating.


Once you see the oil separating add water according to the thickness of the gravy you need.


Just after the boil add your fried yam pieces.



Dip all the fried pieces into the curry.


And cover the pan with a tight lid and let it on a sim flame for 7-10 min till the yam becomes soft.


Then add chopped coriander leaves at the end.
