Homemade Healthy yet delicious Pav Recipe. Pav Bun Recipe. Soft Bread Recipe. Soft Brown Buttery Round Bread Recipe.

In a bowl take 1tsp of sugar.


Then you'll need 1tsp  yeast. I would recommend active dry yeast or an instant dry yeast.


Mix both the ingredients well.


Add 1 large cup of lukewarm water.


Stir


Also add half tbsp of salt.


Stir again and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes for the yeast to activate.


Now take 2 cups of all purpose flour/maida.


Spread it on the kitchen platform so that you can knead it well.


Make a well in the flour and pour little by little all the yeast and water mixture.


Start kneading the dough. Starting you'll feel a bit messy and the dough will not come together as it would be bit runny but don't worry it's just a matter of few minutes and then the dough will start binding.


Knead for about 10-15 minutes by beating, pulling, folding and again beating the dough. You need to work real hard here. Build up your muscles :-P .But the result will definitely surprise you.. so keep going.


Look at the below picture. I told you... It's mess at the start. But bother not.


After beating, spreading and folding method you'll start to observe that things are going right.


It's time to melt some butter. You melt it in a microwave too.


And little by little start kneading again by spreading and folding and again spreading technique. Once you start adding the butter you'll also notice that the dough doesn't stick any more. Also another sign your dough is done perfect is stretch the dough little and it should not tear.


After kneading it for 5 more minutes separate it in a large bowl as this would expand. keep it in a warm place like microwave(obviously switched off) for about 2 hours or more for the first rise.


After 2 hours look at the dough, it's almost more than double the size of original.


Now, release all the bubbles in it by kneading it like our chapati dough for 2-4 minutes.

Now line your baking tray/dish with a butter paper or by greasing it.


In your palm take little oil and start to roll your dough in the shapes you want. I like to keep it round. You can also fill any stuffing's of your choice like cheese/cooked veggies/carrots,peas,boiled potatoes, etc. In one of the rounds I've stuffed left over vegetables. You can also do the same.


Just like this.


Place all the dough balls into the dish and again keep it in a warm place for 45 minutes to 1 hour for the second rise.


After 45 min you'll notice the dough balls doubles again.


You can also make shapes of your choices.


Now, it's time for the milk wash. Just take 3-4 tsp of milk in a bowl and spread over the dough rounds. If you eat egg you can also use egg wash. Mix one whole and spread it over the dough rounds. This will bring the glaze to your Pav/Pao.






Preheat your oven for 10 minutes at 200 degree Celsius. and then insert your baking dish for 35-40 minutes at 200 degree Celsius.


After 35 minutes you are ready with the yummy soft and delicious Pav/Bread. In case you like it more brown keep it for another 5 minutes.


Take melted butter in a bowl.


Spread it over the Pav's when hot and serve with bhaji or eat just like that.. you'll love them.
