Honey Chilly Cake with Jam Layering. Honey Chilly Cake Recipe.

This is a super simple and easy cake with a little twist of chilly in it. This is a one bowl cake. You'll need 250gms of room temperature butter.


3 large eggs.


250gms of all purpose flour or maida, 200 gms of powdered sugar, 1tsp of baking powder and half tsp of cooking/baking soda and few drops of vanilla flavor and 3-4tsp of milk. You can use any flavor of your choice. So, the idea is to use same quantity of Flour, sugar and butter and believe me it comes out super awesome and great.


Take all the above ingredients in a single bowl and start to whisk/mix. I've used hand blender to combine the mixture. But you can use electric mixer or your hand too.


This step is completely optional. You can add orange red food color for a beautiful color.


Mix well till the it reaches the below consistency. 



Now take your baking dish and grease it with a butter or vegetable oil or the parchment paper.


Pour the batter into the pan.



Make it smooth with the help of a spatula.


Preheat your oven for 7-8 minutes at 200 degrees.


Insert your cake mix into the oven for 40 minutes at 180 degrees.




In the meanwhile we'll get ready with other stuffs required. In a small pan take 2tsp of jam.


Keep your heat low at this point.


Also add 2 tbsp of sugar


Also add 1tsp of water and let it melt till it becomes a bit dense syrupy. 


Add 1/4th tbsp of kashmiri chilly powder. If you are a SPICY lover, you can add your regular chilly powder for that special hint.


Let it reduce a bit and keep it aside.


Now in another pan. Again on the low heat.


Add half cup of water to it.


Add 2-3tsp of sugar to the water.



Once it starts to boil add 2-3 tsp of honey to it.


Also add few drops of rose water for the special and rosy smell while having the spongy cake. In case you don't have it in your kitchen skip this. Reduce this syrup from runny to bit sticky and keep it aside.


After 40 minutes your sponge is ready. Looks so yummy and smells so yummm too.. Let it cool on the rack.


Now, take a plate larger than the size of your baking tin and place it upside down on the baking dish.


Then invert it back by again inverting it as shown.


Look at this. It comes out super clean.



It's time to put all the syrups on your sponge. I've placed back the sponge on the tine. But you can do it on the plate itself.


Prick your cake with a fork or knife all through the sponge cake.



Take your honey syrup and start pouring on your sponge. Remember your syrup must be warm not super hot.



Spread it all over your sponge.


Let it absorb for few seconds.


And now, it's time to add a jam and chilly layering.


Again spread it all over the cake.


And you are ready with FABULOUS and SUPERCILIOUS cake.
